What goes in the field bag
Shoes with real grip, because wet algae is ice. A small notebook with a pencil, since pens die when damp. A phone in a zip bag, a printed tide table, water, and a light layer for when the fog comes back.
Things I stopped bringing: a bucket (there is no reason to move anything) and a big camera (I never took it out).
